Academics
To us, academics is more than just going to class and studying - it's an essential part of DSO's mission. We want students to see learning as an active pursuit both inside and outside of the classroom.
To this end, our office provides a wide variety of academic services to give students the information they need to have a great Ohio State experience:
Do you want to know what it takes to get into medical or law school? How about getting a teaching license? We have all of these questions answered with our pre-professional workshops.
Perhaps you're interested in undergraduate research or study abroad programs? Maybe you have questions about your Student Financial Aid or getting into the Arts and Sciences Honors Program? We have these areas covered with our academic success workshops.
The Diversity Services Office is a one-stop shop for all of your academic needs. If we don't know the answer, you can bet we know someone who does!
Academic Advising
Academic advising is also a key component to a successful Ohio State experience. Our staff of professional academic advisors works one-on-one with students to help them achieve their most important goal - an Ohio State University degree.
We provide support and mentoring from Orientation through Graduation.
We encourage all students to meet with their academic advisor on a regular basis. It's the best way to ensure that you're taking the right classes, meeting the correct requirements, and are on the path to timely graduation.
We know it's sometimes difficult to get an appointment at certain busy times of the year, so DSO created Walk-in Wednesday to handle your quick academic questions. On these days, students can just come in and sit down with a DSO advisor - no appointment necessary. Keep an eye out for our weekly emails to know what walk-in hours your advisor has. It doesn't get any easier than this!
